I agree. They forgot to mention Scholar360 - the learner mangement system (LMS) that integrates social networking, wikis, blogs, chat, wysiwyg. In short, think: Blackboard meets MySpace. http://scholar360.com/scholar360_lms.php

You may be able to find used books for school on http://whatsonmybookshelf.com I know I got a discrete math book there.I think digg needs a web 2.0 category!

lets all ignore the privacy concerns with posting students' grades to some website off in the yonder.there's nothing these sites do that outlook, evolution, or a ton of other project management tools do that are not tied to some untested organization from the yonder that wants your personal info.

How is it that LMS systems are considered to be so great? They're just a framework for making the teacher's job easier. I prefer sites like www.pinkmonkey.com or www.college-cram.com that directly help the student.

I found this article very well written, and he pointed out some really great tools. Nice that we all don't have to chase down and try all of these things now. The one I've got the most experience with so far is http://www.gradefix.com/ and I think he's right to have recommended it. I have friends that use http://www.backpack.com/ and http://www.basecamp.com/ too, and for tracking school assignments, I think Gradefix is unbeatable!
