@bobob: This maybe be out of data information but last that I heard docx had all the style data stored as non-xml nonsense in the header. Doesn't seem very open to me.Also xml isn't inherently more open than anything else, it is inherently more eXtensible.
Student textbook exchanges are more valuable and revolutionary than any of these links! They need to take over and dominate and shut down the university bookstore. Or maybe I'm just biased....

Overall it is just used by a lot of people. Not sure if businesses use it more but schools, homes... use ti.
