So let me get this straight...RR7 is really RR6 that came out a year ago for the Xbox 360. And was this to show how much better the PS3 was over the 360 or how after a year Namco sat on their ass and hardly did anything on this game other then port it over to the PS3 and clean a couple of things up. Oh and add a ship that wasn't there before on a couple of tracks. And imagine how pissed I would have been if I would have bought this on the PS3 thinking that it was the next RR. I'll be keeping my eye on you Namco...
@ryborgRarely do ports get worse, especially if its to a platform that is supposedly "more powerful". Things have been removed and texture quality decreased...
whoa, more RAM = more latency?I think having less ram = more fetching data from HD or DVD which will give you alot more latency than caching things up in RAM. Go back to CS101.
Well, these screenshots show again that a) higher res on PS3 b) less contrast on shading with PS3 (which actually does look a lot more realistic - I was with other diggers on the fact that 360 RR6 screenshots looked better, but now I'm not utterly convinced)c) more subtle, natural-looking water on PS3So, bottom-line is: I'm confused. :) Let's wait until the PS3 is out and we can get our hands on it to test it out fully before making harsh comments based on screenshots.!
The shadow cast by a tree on the street in front of the car looks a lot more realistic in the PS3 version then the 360 one. Also the 360 seems to have more trees in the background then PS3. The reflection in water looks a lot more realistic as well, it would usually reflect the mountains and sky.
The reason on playing a game is the feeling you get out of it..For having played the ridge racer games in the past (not this new version) I could honestly said that at the speed of the game the graphic details are not what makes the good feeling cause you don't see it.Of course Playstation advertisement do say the technology is superior in comparison with the concurrence ... But guess what ? Graphics don't make the game better, it is good to have realistic graphics but the feeling is the first reason some played a mario and a sonic even if the machine at the time had lower graphic capabilities (mario on the nes compared to master system - sonic on genesis compared to super nes) ... Talking about Mario and Sonic - they were innovative games that is what make gamers happy ... Not games with fancy graphics with no soul ... The games companies should take more risks in making innovative games and not sequel of old games with better graphics ... cause we are tired and sick of buying the same games over the years ... I think we could say the same about movies ... the very same with new special effects .. The innovation is disappearing in games like it has disappear in movies and the reason is that there are more and more big game companies that look for profit without risk ... And less little companies that want to achieve a dream that was the vision of its creators ..

Actually I am a photographer as well, and the 360 screen shots look more natural and serene. I must question your photography skills.
