Funny... there are two classes of comments here. From parents. and from not-parents.My kids have PCs in their rooms. They are told that I may, can, and will monitor their network activities if needed.Yes, I trust them to be great kids (they are!), to do the best within their abilities. I also know their abilities and judgements are not fully mature. Whether I watch them remotely or directly is not the issue. Managing their growth, and helping them grow by self-regulation because they know I am managing their growth, is.

I find most of these comments amusing. I know for a fact that just because children tend to be less intelligent than adults does not make that true in all cases. In other cases it makes more sense to have the child monitor their parent(s) activities online. Either way, privacy is a good thing and should be respected regardless of age. If you're that worried about what you're children are doing online you obviously don't think much of your child's intellect. If you feel they're not intelligent enough to not go on inappropriate websites then you should use a program that blocks access to certain sites, not allows you to spy on your kids.

It looks like I'm late to the discussion, but these types of software are gaining a lot of media attention lately. As a customer of remote spy software <a class="user" href="http://www.remotespy.com">http://www.remotespy.com</a> I find them to be a tremendous resource for parents with young children. There are far too many dangers online (cyberbullying) to not be informed of their internet history.
