maps.google.com— Thanks to google maps, this is a commercial jet graveyard (airport is just for landing them, note no terminals) north of Los Angeles.

That's Mojave airport. The jets there are in long term storage more than an actual graveyard. My grandfather hangered his home built airplane there. Runway 30-12 is 9600 feet long, which is great for testing homebuilt airplanes - his plane took off in about 160 feet. A couple of hangers over from my grandfather, Burt Rutan does his stuff. There is a tower, in the NE corner of the block of hangers and buildings. You can see the long shadow. The giant race track is a Honda R&D test track.

Its probably a glitch due to reflected sunlight that has saturated the sensor's pixels.

Just goes to prove, give mankind an enormous car park (in this case huge bits of flat desert) and he'll fill it... somehow...

I'd love to just get one of those planes and fly until I run out of fuel and fall to my death.
