"Letting kids be kids" does not mean letting kids be idiots. It means letting them play and experiment, but there is such a thing as parental supervision. The mistake these kids are making is typical "what I want, everyone wants!". This is something kids have to learn. When a kid wants to play tag, that doesn't mean "hey EVERYONE should play tag". Losing the right to play tag will teach them what happens when they try to involve people who don't want to be involved.BTW this is the same issue with adults who think everyone wants to be Christian.
Just one more way to teach the next generation to bow down to authority and not have any independent thought. Playtime is uncontrolled frivolity and must be stopped. We will tell you what is fun, now come here and take your ritalin and paxil.
Holy crap, what kind of balls were you using? The only ball I ever saw being used in dodgeball was that really soft ball that, at most, could leave a red area on your skin if you were hit really hard by one of the class behemoths. Damn you Stevie!
This is not the same as Christianity which is a life shaping philosophical decision. (I''m an atheist if that matters) This is about kids playing and there is some good to be learned with going along in a group. it's called society I am not implying you should always follow the group either. The real solution here is to identify those children that are harassing the students who don't want to play and not allowing them to play tag until they can learn the rules. I'm sure it's more than just kids being chased when they don't want to play, anyone ever play "slap" tag but again they individuals responsible for the bad behavior should be punished not everyone and taking a way tag just makes the school staff look like idiots unable to control children.

If you don't want to be chased don't run away and when you're tagged don't chase others.

You're wrong boy. Those are still American favorites. Now if it was starcraft they were playing...
