canada.com — Powell said that every word of what he called his 'infamous' presentation about WMD (in Iraq) had been vetted by the intelligence community -- 'and I had no reason to disbelieve it.' The former secretary of state has previously described his prewar UN speech as a 'blot' on his record.

Powell should have done the right thing before he went to the UN to give that speech... like talk to the analysts that knew the photos he used were BS before hand. Waiting for several years when its WAY too late to do a damn thing about it and then speaking up is chickens**t. 'and I had no reason to disbelieve it.' that is the same excuse bush and cheney are using by the way. I like Powell more than the rest of them but i won't ever forgive him.

Oooh - big brave Mr Powell - what a man! These johnny-come-lately "brave" people just piss me the hell off. Where were they when it counted? These goddamned slugs wait until the very end to stand up and be counted - once it's clear that most people have turned. They should have said something 6 years ago. It's easy to "stand up" (yeah right) and "be counted" once the floodgates open. The man has no conscience - he's just trying to save what's left of what used to be a massive reputation that he worked hard to build. When it counted most, his character failed (he could have dug and listened to people who WOULD have talked to him had he stood and said "I'm not sure about this". Instead he allowed himself to be bullied and went along with the thugs. All it takes is enough good people to stand by and do nothing. And he did. They all did.

I thought it was House, then Senate.

Let's see if he DOES come out for Obama! That should counterpoise a lot of the damage done among moderates by the Al Gore endorsement!

I understand that Colin Powell is going to be on CNN soon to make an important announcement. Stay tuned.
