Parallels/VMWare: Actually running Windows inside Mac OS X. You can do/have everything Windows provides, as well as OS X, side-by-side. You are dedicating resources (RAM, HDD, CPU, etc.) to Windows. Performance can be sluggish for Windows & OS X, since resources are split.Crossover/Wine: You're not really running Windows, you're running some compatibility software that makes the application you install think it's in Windows. The Windows applications you choose to install run as if they are in Windows, but they're part of the OS X operating system. Less compatible with applications, and less of a resource hog, as you don't need to actually run Windows. Oh, and less user-friendly, though Crossover does a good job making it more user-friendly.
SWEEEEEEET! Finally, I can get the hell off of Winbloze for good! Those last few apps I had to have Winbloze for will run on the latest Crossover Office, but I had an old version. This saves me money and a ton of headaches with Vista. THANK YOU CodeWeavers!!!!
No the site could not take all the traffic. That's all. They have also extended the time to unlock your serial number so keep trying:"You will be able to unlock your serial number that was emailed to you for an extended time, (an additional 48 hours), due to this downtime. We will simply stop giving out new serial numbers at 23:59 (Midnight) Central Standard Time."
