wvrecord.com — CHARLESTON - At least one state coal industry leader said he was shocked by comments Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama made earlier this year."His comments are unfortunate," Chris Hamilton said Sunday, "and really reflect a very uninformed voice and perspective to coal specifically and energy generally."

How is it that an existing coal plant will be able to survive under the new policies when a new plant could not? Are they going to be exempted? Are they just "rich enough" to be able to afford the expenditures and only flirt with bankruptcy rather than marry it?

I find Obama's comments quite believable. Al Qaeda promised to bankrupt America. Obama promised to bankrupt the coal industry (and who knows what other industries). Naturally, Al Qaeda endorsed Obama.

Maybe you missed the part where McCain said that he would like to see coal power be completely phased out and sponsored legislation that would wipe out 78% of coal production.I don't necessarily disagree with him, but your hypocrite is showing if you're going after Obama for exactly the same thing McCain has been quoted as saying.
