cbs11tv.com— The coach of a Texas high school basketball team that beat another team 100-0 was fired Sunday, the same day he sent an e-mail to a newspaper stating he will not apologize "for a wide-margin victory

You suggestion that these players pass the ball around for 8 minutes and let the clock run out is pathetic. How do you think that would make the less talented team feel? Get out there and play basketball. Make the shot if you can, and the other team gets the ball and gets a shot to put a score on the board. You insult the players by your idiot suggestion. By the way, at halftime, this team who had not won a SINGLE basketball game in over 4 years was asked if they wanted to call the game... they refused and wanted to play. I think that's awesome. The real issue here is that these team should not be in the same league.
life goes on for f**ks sake, good he didn't say i'm sorry because you suck. sports are supposed to be competitive otherwise there would be no point. and why fire him? hes going to be unemployed for a while because he hurt some one's feelings? as "spyd3rweb" said: The pussification of America.
@AngelaQSportsmanship on the losing side is still sportsmanship. They are learning their moral values, and the other team is learning theirs. Everyone is equal and everyone can lose equally.

I lost count of the number of times you called other users ?grammar Nazis?, but you need to accept that the problem is not with everyone else: It?s with you.
Snoosy hit it right on the head... If this team they were playing wanted any "special" status, then why would they be in the same league ?To me it would be a slap in the face to the losing team if they started playing harlem globetrotters style and just obviously goofing around... moreso than being beaten 100-0.The fact that this "news" story has survived for more than 24 hours in the first place amazes me....Seriously.... it's a game, who cares? I'm sure the players involved are over it. TBH, they were probably over it an hour after the game was over.
Too funny, still the bigger picture RELIGIOUS a$$holes always hide behind something, right is right you don't keep hipping on a group of challenged individuals....check YOUR FACTS
Anyway it is sport. If you play bad, you lose. If know that you play bad, be ready to lose or don't play at all. The winning team did nothing to be blamed for, what does he want? They should have yielded intentionally or what?!
Well there is a difference between taking anyone's life in a war or winning in a competitive game between two conscenting teams. I agree that running over another team - just for the purpose to humiliating it - is bad. But the coach says that this didn't happen, and we have no reason to doubt his words. If you and I ever compete in a game with each together, I would insist that you give your best - even if I get battered as badly as the losing team in this story. If I'd see that you show a wrong sense of guilt or mercy towards me then my feelings would be hurt. Losing badly against a team that took the game seriously is Okay. Losing badly against a team that obviously didn't even try hard is devastating.I can stand the truth. If you're so much better than me then there is no reason to hide it. I wouldn't do it for you either the other way around because I RESPECT YOU as you are.
