Why don't we just agree on one spelling for the word Defense? Or should we choose Defence?

So, in other words, a whole bunch of (tax) money? I prefer to only have to pay for cures/treatment when I'm sick.

If smoking was the only cause of cancer, you would be on the mark. As it is, the best prevention of smoking related cancers is a parent who doesn't smoke and discusses the toxic nature of burning tobacco with thier kid from an early age. Kids who don't start are not likely to start smoking as adults. Almost every smoker I know had a parent who smoked or otherwise used tobacco and they started before age 18.

The drug companies would simply invest in the other treatment and make billions. Smart millionaires go where the money is and learn to adapt.

Shakespeare spelled it "defence", but we probably get the word from the French "defense." English simply does not make sense, We shouldn't have variable spellings of such basic words.

If few people can pay for this, the scientists (urged by the companies) will come up with a way to lower the costs so that more people can afford it. It's a basic economic concept. There are millions of people who could be customers (for lack of a better term), so the companies who will control this will take that into consideration. There are many medicines and proceedures that used to cost more than most people could afford. The costs dropped, and the earnings for the companies went up.

I hope the cure for cancer is near, but I am not so sure this is it. Hopefully, it will come soon, but it seems like we are always hearing it is right around, yet nothing ever materializes.http://www.edrugsearch.com/drug-info/
