Sounds like the correlation is that richer, safer countries handle guns better then poorer violent ones. Sadly the argument never was that guns make violent crime more common, but rather guns cause higher rates of death when violent crimes do occur.

Simply put, if you're kicking someone in the head, you're trying to ensure they never get up again, unless you're unfamiliar with the human skull being used to house its brain.

All I can do is stress that he was already lying on the ground unconscious with his head smashed open. I get it that physical altercations get people heated up and defensive, but this guy's only participation in this altercation was to retaliate to a hateful slur by grabbing and slapping someone. He didn't then escalate things further while bleeding all over the sidewalk. He just laid there snoring while the girls set about punting his head. Given that they started the whole interaction off by spontaneously calling him a gentlemen in the first place, it does not seem like a terrible leap to infer that were happy to kill this gentlemen for having the audacity to fight back. With that level of barely-provoked violence, it seems a lot more like they were looking for an excuse.(He was also 62. Quite the 'tussle'.)

Compare "f***ing gentlemen" to I don't know, calling you an "ugly-ass b****" and telling your hideous face you'd go to hell for being ugly. They were "hurling homophobic abuse." "Hurling" insults implies that they insulted him multiple times. If someone came up to you and started spouting all this crap, you'd want to slap them, too."How many times would a dude have to hit your GF or Wife before you took a shot at him?"They were demeaning his relationship with a man, a relationship you valued and held dear. How many times would a dude have to insult your "GF" before you took a shot at him?Honestly, I think the slap was justified, but even if it wasn't, the beating was totally unnecessary.Beating the s**t out of him is going overboard for just a slap. Sure, the guy gave him the brain damage that ultimately would kill him, but the girls started kicking his body and head, worsening the damage -- the girl got more than enough revenge. Those punk ass motherf**kers killed him over a slap (and his sexuality) -- he hit a girl, they killed him. I don't like men who hit girls, either. But only if they hit nice girls who don't deserve it.IMHO, homophobic people need some sense slapped into them.(Take with a pinch of salt.)

"If you don't want to get punched in the head, don't grab girls and start slapping them because they called you a name."Whoa dude, you've got it all reversed there. If you don't want to get brain damage from being punched in the head or beaten the s**t out of when you're defenseless, or even end up DEAD, don't grab a girl and slap them once because they called you a f**king gentlemen, telling you your relationship with the man you loved was revolting and that you two were disgusting as well. Hey, the guy slapped the girl, which made her boyfriend step in, but she (indirectly) insulted his boyfriend, if people are going to talk about honor. I'm not justifying the beating, but if you want to get "even," beat the s**t out of someone while they're conscious so they feel it -- that's bad, but what's worse is beating the s**t out of a defenseless man lying on the pavement, bleeding out of the skull. A slap doesn't warrant that.

Do you think they targeted him not because he was gay? Do they have a history of being verbally abusive to straights when drunk then killing people when they fight back?
