Even if it is true (which it isn't--scientists have shown the warming has more to do with the sun, surprise of surprises), AGW isn't necessarily even bad overall. It could improve crop and plant growth. Yet people fixate on all the alleged bad consequences, without talking at all about the potential upside. AGW proponents don't care about anything but preserving the Earth the way it was 100 years ago, they don't realize it started out as a molten rock, and will likely end up that way too.
@vikingcoder - that is my point. If they do not follow the destructive path we took, they will potentially be at a disadvantage. We did it on the cheap without regard for the environment. It would not be fair to expect anything different from them without subsidies.
My straw man? Look at your comment before. I was refuting your argument."Anything can become a pollutant when it is out of normal concentration and/or location."Please enlighten me with why you think CO2 is a pollutant (beyond warming). Your attacks on me do not help your argument. My response was to point out how ludicrous your statement is. Obviously anything can become a pollutant when introduced to such concentrations/locations. Your point is misleading as it does not address the Earth. If you actually have a point, please elaborate.
Than don't respond in this thread. There are many other threads that debate CO2 causes significant warmth. This one is specifically "What if it didn't". As such your argument does not stand as you continue to associate warmth with it's bad effects. CO2 would not be considered a pollutant without AGW theory.
Wow, did you just jump ship? If you're not going to stay on topic, I see no point in responding to your posts.Tell me that all scientific studies performed in the last century and their results were 100% accurate and conclusive. Please state that so I can calmly block you.
Dry air contains roughly (by volume) 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. Tests have shown that increasing the level of carbon dioxide in a greenhouse to 550 ppm will accelerate plant growth by 30 - 40 %. http://www.co2science.org/data/plant_growth/descri ...Your last 3 points make no sense in reference to the argument at hand.
Let´s ask these people in New Orleans if climate change is a hoax or not... I believe the Goracle promised us death and destruction like we have never seen because of Global Warming. Since then, there have been NO cat 5 hurricanes. The 2009 hurricane season was very quiet, with NO hurricanes making landfall in the United States. We all have a responsibility to our planet, but solutions prescribed by the Al Gore types ALWAYS involve less money for me, and more for them.
Ok candorny, lead the way! Give me all your stuff and go live off the grid in the sierra nevada mountains, please do it immediately! Oh and take all your friends who believe your imaginary tale with you, wont you?Live by example, and lead by example too!
You mention only doing the things that are absolutely necessary for the human race to survive on this planet, but the way we're going there won't be a planet left to sustain human life on unless we change things.
