Yeah, it looked great. It was made by a bunch of regular fans for nothing. And Square simply shut them down. See, that's what pisses me off. Companies who simply want to make money and avoid letting anyone else even touching their stuff if they don't get a penny out of it.What they should have done is let these guys do their thing, and piggybacked on the game's publicity to make a Chrono Trigger sequel. That's why Rockstar has such a huge following. Their games are very moddable (well, more or less) and they don't stop anyone from doing it. And the opposite reason is why everyone hates EA Games.
Where did you read that the point for it was to look updated? No the point of it is simply to make it 3d, while staying true to the original graphics, just like it was 3d in my imagination at the time I was playing Zelda in 1986 when I was 10. I guess you cannot understand it because I'll assume that you are much younger than me and played Zelda 1 when you were about 5, at a time when 3d consoles already existed, and to you it's now just "an overrated 2d game for kids".If you cannot see something interesting or special in being able to smoothly transition from the original NES graphics to a 3d volumetric representation, well too bad for you, I cannot force you to like it...
Yeah that's the worst thing they could have done... contact Square/Enix and ask them for permission. These companies unofficially tolerate fan-games, but if you "officially" make them aware of it through an email or letter, they have to threaten you with a C&D letter, or else they could lose their trademarks for not protecting them. It's a legal procedure required by their lawyers.
Back up! Pretty cool, actually. I had trouble at some points trying to determine if objects were far enough apart (when paths are one link in width) to go through. Interesting idea. I would like to see the entire game remade like this.
I was much older than five when I played this. It's a great game I have played through many times. My favorite games of all time are Zelda, Earthbound, and Final Fantasy 6. I appreciate 2D games. Just not this crappy knock off. They could have made 3d models out of cubed 8-bit pixels. that would have been much more interesting. I don't know why you are trying to defend this lousy flash game.

Those screenshots look horrible. I was expecting something around PS1 level, but this is just like NES graphics pasted onto cubes.
