Even when doing Elmo, Sesame Street just gets it right in explaining things to children. And Elmo annoys the crap outta me, don't get me wrong.

Thanks for digging this up. (No pun intended) I'd heard about this when aired in '83 but never saw it until now. Very touching, and should be a lesson to parents that you have to teach your kids the unpleasant facts of life (and death). It's going to be a downer, but you gotta come up with positive ways to deal with it like here.
