wired.com — Monopoly is about to get a makeover. The 75 year old game will be relaunched with a circular board, and no cash. Other than the lack of corners and currency, the game remains unchanged, which should mean that the inevitably marathon sessions will be just as boring as ever.

At least you don't have to worry about losing your money.

And what about rule-variations like free-parking where you collect all the tax that got paid (rather in to the bank). Can you loan other people cash, at interest? Whilst I will say that Monotony isn't the funnest game on the planet, with a good set of people, some drinks and some rule variations, it can be quite good.

I never understood why people called Portal a first person shooter. I always considered it a puzzle game.

Assuming it's like the existing version of Monopoly that uses cards, there's no reason you can't have rule variations. You can swipe a card and add/subtract money from any player at any point.Free parking might be a little more frustrating, since you would have to keep track of how much money the person gets manually, but pretty much any other house rules would work without any changes.
