What's sad is that you work in retail long enough, you'll have people try to buy just about anything in your store from you.

As long as the building is occupied, then they still have to comply with fire codes, like having fire extinguishers. During a complete liquidation sale, they can't sell the extinguishers, or smoke detectors, or any other safety required device.
