wikileaks.org — Wikinews has obtained Operating Thetan (OT) documents of the Church of Scientology which were leaked via Wikileaks. Although some portions of the manual have been leaked previously, this is believed to be the first time the full unedited version has become publicly available.

phronko: Normally, I would say you are right. But the nature of this Scio stuff is very different to some sort of book of witchcraft or something like that. I just used that as a common analogy.First of all, these Scio processes are designed for one purpose, and one purpose only - to alter your mind. Though it is dressed up as spirituality, it is really a highly focussed set of psychological routines which work very deeply on the mind. These processes exploit artifacts of the way the brain works and processes information which Hubbard discovered but did not fully understand. He just knew, like a lot of NLP researchers "just know" that if you do certain things, the mind will suddenly change, in a snap, and the person will suddenly think and feel completely differently than they ever have before. Now that can be great, if it works, but if it doesn't work, it creates a massive mess in that person's mind and psychie. When this happens in Scientology, the person is said to be "red tagged", which means basically that it's an emergency. They have to be fixed up, and very fast, before they get worse. In very serous cases, the person can actually have what is called a "psychotic break", and then they actually can't be fixed by auditing in Scientology, they have to be taken somewhere where they can (hopefully) "destimulate" over a period of days, weeks, even months. This is what I meant by taking people to certain "places".Now, when a kid or inexperienced person says to themselves, "Hey, I think I'll try and get these Super Powers... I'll just follow these instructions in these materials I just downloaded," that's when you have a problem. Because if they do it, and something goes wrong, and they end up "red tagged", there is no one there to help them who knows what has happened. All they have is this kid who is raving and running around naked, scratching his skin off. What are the authorities going to do? Use your imagination.I really want to stress that it is not because the person is mentally "fragile" that they come unglued like this, any more than a person who swallows a whole bunch of sleeping pills is "fragile" just because they fall into a coma. This Scientology stuff is SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to alter your mind. How much clearer can I make it? That's what it's for. But it's meant to be used under careful supervision. If it is not used under careful supervision, people can and do get hurt.

They do a hell of a lot more than just sue people, dude. They harass, and break in, and sometimes even murder.

I'm just saying, all religions start out as cults. Read some history and stop being such a lemming.

I went to wikileaks.org and this article now just shows "unavailable 404" but from what I can see there is no directory of stories in wikileaks, just the links to whatever stories they currently feature on page one. apparently the demand on the site outstrips wikileaks' funding.
