If you hate FoF, you obviously didn't play it long enough. First of all, it's infinitely better when you plug in the Xbox 360 Guitar via USB port. Secondly, FoF by itself doesn't cut it, install RFMod, get the Guitar Hero song rips, and you'll love the game instantly.
Guitar Zero is dead though. The similarities were taking it too far, probably legal trouble. Frets on Fire is still young... it will get better with time.
