Cut the kid some slack. Christians have been doing stuff like this for 2,000 years and getting away with it, maybe he's as fed up as some of the rest of us are. It sucks that this kind of stuff happens to anyone but to rally against non-theists for being cruel is such an extreme case of the pot calling the kettle black. I live in a small town in the south and I am an atheist, every time I have let anyone know that (save one) I have been ostracized at some level. 30 years of quiet persecution can embitter a man.

Well, I consider myself an agnostic with an atheist suspicion anyway.
