youtube.com— This guys audition on American Idol was great, in an attempt to find more clips of him, I came across this video of him with his band.

The reason he probably went on AI was to get the kind of publicity a good 15 minutes can bring. Now people actually care to go and look this stuff up. Before he was just another face in the genre of good indie rock.
Thinkbox, he went to North Greenville University. Of course, now that digg users know that he's a Christian, they might not vote for him anymore. :PMy brother (knows him personally) gave me one of Chris' CD's about five years ago and told me, "he'll make it someday." He's got a great personality and I hope he does well. This is the first time he's made it through the auditions.
hes very talented, although that was pretty bland songwriting. He could do some great things though with the right mix of people or the right amount of inspiration. Why he's looking for either of those at 'murrican idol is beyond me...
The fact that his myspaces are still up make me worried. Usually Fox makes the contestants take down their personal websites if they make it to the final 12.
What does the fact that the guy's a Christian have to do with whether he's a great singer or not? American Idol is a singing competition - not a faith competition.
I thought his audition was okay. He was pretty funny, but that says nothing about his musicianship. I also thought that crappy song he sang in his first solo performance on American Idol sounded like a christian rock song. I did some investigating and it turns out it is from a band who claims to not be a christian rock band, but all the members come from christian rock bands. As my wife said, if you don't want to be called a christian rock band, don't play crappy christian rock sounding music. This guy is trying to push an agenda. As Bill Maher said to the christians, "Leave rock and roll alone. Rock and Roll is about rebellion." I would add, "and good music."
