I can't even find a place to outright just buy an iPhone in Canada.

Ugh, I agree. I ended up buying an app called TouchDown for ~$30, which works pretty well for Exchange. The free 5 day trial isn't restricted and is on the Market, I'd recommend trying it out.http://www.nitrodesk.com/dk_touchdownFeatures.aspx

Save $1200 wtf are you talking about? Thats only if you need unlimited everything. For me its $75/month with ulimited 3G & texting. I sure as hell don't need unlimited voice with rollover minutes and unlimited mobile to mobile, most of my friends use at&t anyway.iPhone 3GS is the best deal, and the best phone, no contest. I still got the 1st gen iPhone and i'll be buying the 3GS asap.

Palm: "Thinking years ahead of everyone else..." but actually DOING years after the competition.

The apps on SD card bit is more complicated than it sounds. You have to provide better copy protection for paid apps and also make algorithms to deal with cases that could prevent the phone from booting if the SD card is not installed. For instance, most of the system apps in Android can be replaced with apps from the market. If you replace a system app that is necessary to run the phone, what kind of fall-back measures can you provide if the user app gets installed to the SD card which is not present? There are many more cases and problems to consider. Many companies have had this problem. Nintendo still hasn't fixed it on the Wii (at least now you can copy apps over to the SD card though).

The iPod Touch is like a gateway drug to the iPhone for me... I'd love to get one but the price is simply too much when you throw in unlimited text and data. I personally could trade off texts for email (unlimited data) but getting my friends to go the extra hoop to e-mail me on their phone instead of text me? Its never gonna happen. I know 4 people who go through over 6,000 (sent+received) texts a month...I've always liked T-Mobile but I'm a bit worried about their 3G coverage, and as I said, the iPod Touch is simply amazing, I can't imagine what an iPhone must ne like ;p
