news.bbc.co.uk — China has already overtaken the US as the world's "biggest polluter", a report to be published next month says. The research suggests the country's greenhouse gas emissions have been underestimated, and probably passed those of the US in 2006-2007.

Yeah well most of their carbon pollution has much to do with the fact that they are making crap for us in factories that we opened up there so we could get cheap labor and avoid environmental regulations that hinder max profit.

I am not watching any of the Olympics live, I will not give them any advertising revenue.Boycott the Chinese Olympics!

Why would you think they wouldn't? Now I probably fit in this view of yours, I am a staunch environmentalist. I am completely boycotting the Olympics, I do not shop at WalMart and try to buy American goods over Chinese, and yes, this makes me sick to my stomach. America gets a brunt of it because this is how we look to most of the world, and the Americans living here hold it to a higher standard, that is why you will hear environmentalists hating on America and its' wasteful ways. So all in all, China has 4 times the population and they are just now surpassing our pollution levels, why don't you get it?

You forgot about PPP, pal. China's purchasing power is higher and $200 (and it's about what an avg employee can earn in those factories) in China is actually about $1000 in the US. $2 buys you a decent lunch in major cities while this number is about $10 in NY or LAWhat happens if wages rise in China? Then you are gonna take advantage of countries like India, Vietnam and African countries that aren't 'slave countries" in your perception. So, shouldn't you to be blamed? (And the trend is already occuring)
