While I sympathise with working mothers (I am one) I don't think this is the Army's fault, really. If she can't organise it, and I couldn't, she shouldn't have been in the Army in the first place.

What is the first rule? Always have a backup plan. Also"Kamani's dad isn't involved in the child's life"Be very sure that if you are too dumb to use protection, the mother/father are at least committed to each other.

I'm not sure, looking at what it said about the Granny supposed to take care of the baby, there was no way she could manage it, with ill relatives and other responsibilities coming out of her ears. I don't think she should even have asked her mother.
