alternet.org — According to Kiplinger's, the Cheneys, who may be worth close to $100 million, have invested the vast majority of their wealth overseas, in markets that do not fluctuate based on the U.S. dollar. Cheney's money is not in a blind trust.

@miketrinI believe that the federal courts have resolved the so called "closed door" energy meetings. And if you really were interested in the truth you would know that Bill Clinton also gave Halliburton a no bid contract to perform the same type of operations in Kosovo. Bill Clinton did not break the law when he did it, and neither did the Bush administration. This dog will not hunt, that is why you do not hear democratic politicians beating the drum anymore. Also, I tried to respect you without making ad homineum attacks, and I would appreciate the same courtesy.

How about, planning declaring and executing a war of aggression without congress approval? How about the war profeteering deals he scored with haliburton?

If you can't beat them, join the, I'm moving all my funds to foreign equity funds. Sorry America, nothing worse than rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Cheney thinks he will get better returns overseas, whats the big deal? He isnt saying the US is going to crash, he just thinks that the foreign markets will make him more money. Has anyone looked at the foreign stock markets in the last few years? They have been doing much better than the US.

"Free trade agreements generally lead to greater growth, so why not gamble on that?"Except when it leads to an increase in outsourcing...and we all lose our jobs. Thanks Clinton!

it was a crime when Clinton did it and it was a crime when Cheney bush did it!! I complained about Clinton doing it and the democrats poo-pooed the issue...they wanted to prevent "genocide"...even if it meant bombing all the Christians in order to save the Krazy muslim army KLA?.....and now the republicans are saying that was ok and they are doing the same thing except now they bomb muslims....they engage in "nation Building" exposing the lies Bush told as he ran for president. Why is it that neither the democrats or republicans can a) be aware of recent history nor b) be consistent in their beliefs? nor c) stop throwing our tax money down a rat hole and then forwarding it on to Dick Cheney and his pals(dems and repubs)...he has far more powerful democrat friends then any of you wacky democrats on here. the answer to the convenient memory lapses and hypocrisy; libertarianism. While I'm waiting for the dollar to collapse , like my pal Cheney I'll be parked in precious metals, energy and emerging markets...afterwards, all you idiot democrats and republicans will wake up with no savings and broken promises fromt he US government, then you'll be ready for change....until then, enjoy your medicare, wars illiterate public school grads and social security.

Cheney bets on a bad economy. That's the equivalent of me betting my friends that I'm going to masturbate tonight. It's not a bet if you're holding all the cards.

Since when is Cheney's money not in a blind trust?

Perhaps it is the America that Haliburton and the like represents, and not the American people that had made terrorists of people in remote places. If the corrupt conduct Haliburton and other corporation's with no-bid contracts in Iraq and New Orleans is any example, then I too protest, though I have sufficient power and protection as an American citizen so that I need not bomb and terrorize others. Cannot justify acts of terrorism, but one can certainly understand them from people who have so few options under governments that do business with American corporations at the expense of their own people.

what i love about Digg is it has 2 main biases (1) is for Apple computer :) which i dont mind being an apple addict myself (2) is for liberal politics... which consists of calling ppl names and insulting ppl without looking at history to see the future. its really pretty basic. you cut taxes (Bush, Regan and yes John F Kennedy did to) and the economy picks up and you have HUGE increases in incoming taxes (such as the record amount we recorded this year) look it up its true. the next part is a little tricky to some. its really a matter of view. either you appease (read bill clinton) or you beat the crap out of ppl who mess with you (read george bush) clinton did jack when we were attacked in 93, the cole, somalia was a joke, and there are many other shady military things that went down in his time (North korea, China mainly) bush on the other hand has attacked Afgh. and Iraq (mind you everyone thought it was a good idea at he time, even hilary and Bill himself) now they are more outraged at Carl Rove then they are about Mr. Chavez calling OUR president the devil. interesting huh... how they back a socialist, anti-american dictator (friend of cuba by the way) more then they do their own commander-in-chief during war. its unbelievable and it is why they wont win many elections until they come up with solutions instead of pionting out everyone's problems
