"A good start would be to actually teach kids about how to deal with social situations" They are teaching them about social situations. They're teaching them to be frightened of everything, teaching them that's ok to be searched constantly, and teaching them to go on lockdown whenever asked. Just the other day, a school down the street from me had what looked like a large swat team go in and start running metal detecting wands over students for no reason. They found a weapon. It was a pair of scissors with pointy tips.
