i too am glad it was set free. Whenever i read about the 100+ year old lobsters being sold to a restaurant i get particularly uneasy. I don't eat any animals, but it seems kind of wrong to eat something that will outlive 99.9% of us. I can't imagine an animal that ate trash (bottom feeders) for 100 years would taste good anyway (lobsters, sturgeons. catfish etc).
Sturgeons living 100 years is actually not that unusual. depending on the species, they can be up to 18 feet long. fortunately they don't bother with people. rivers going through cities can easily have ones 6 feet long.
