eric y and jay whitlow agree with mexretroshore, priests apparently have their tastes set. we wonder how much total the catholics have paid out in the US to kids and their families for the abuse? we also wonder why you yankees continue to send your little boys to be with the priests?ey and j whitlow
Dude are you stupid? "In the past" is now the excuse? Again, are you stupid? How about massively stupid? So you're saying, lol, that priests only sin in the past? The hell kind of nutty insane airheaded excuse is that? Wow, so you declare "it's in the past peeeeple! hehehehehe hahahahahah heeeeee" and that means they've all stopped sinning huh? Man, talk about dumb statements. Thank God I'm not a Catholic.http://eternian.blogspot.com
Kyle I believe "in the past" is refering to those events of the past. What may or may not be happening now is another discussion. Like many Catholics I am appalled at this violation of trust. I am also heartened that the Church is taking steps, serious ones, to help prevent this from happening in the future. No other major institution is doing the same. Try a search on teachers and children and you will see the problem is at least as severe.Another point is that a lot of Catholic faithful and Clergy have been marginalized by a powerful Liberal element that "interpreted" Vatican II to mean lots of things that it didn't. We have had to put up with "Father Heretic" and "Sister Lollipop," with the homosexualiztion of many of our seminaries and a general watering down of the faith. Fortunately there are signs of a powerful renewal. Many of those liberal idiots are retiring or have left. Guess what there is no one to replace them. A new crop of young people are coming up who are faithful, committed to Jesus and to the Church. Ther are in union with the Holy Father and the full teachings of the Church. As some precicted 40 years ago, Benedict XVI for one, the Church would become smaller, poorer, and pure. We see that happening right now and I for one thank God for it. Let the scandals come it only means God is allowing the filth to rise to the surface so it can be washed clean.
Teachers are 100 times more likely to molest a child than a Roman Catholic priest is. Maybe we should warn our kids about their teachers instead. I understand what the church is trying to do with this book, but it just opens the door for ridicule by the masses of anti-Catholics in this country.
If that's what it takes to fight the attacks on my church I'll do it. You've inspired me to write a check to my church right now to fight the evils of Anti-Catholicism. Many thanks.

Maybe, but they do not get protection from a fake authority, claiming to be doing god's work.
