bluray.highdefdigest.com — Not only has Blu-ray hit the 100,000 unit mark faster than rival format HD DVD, it hits the milestone two months faster than standard-def DVD did back in 1998 (with 'Air Force One'), when DVD was eleven months old.

Worth noting it was only the first 500 000 that registered with the Playstation3Network. That number has probably been passed now since it sold over 600 000 consoles in Europe.

everyone on digg seems to want sony to give up and cede things to hd-dvd, but why not pressure universal to release on blu-ray? its easier to get one studio to switch over than it is to get 8+ other studios to switch to hd-dvd. why isnt anyone giving universal crap for stretching out this format war?

OK Sony when are you going to put out the rest of the James Bond series on Hi-Def Blue-Ray

neither format is ahead? did you NOT read the title of this article? hd-dvd has been on the market longer, and still hasnt passed this milestone.i have alot of dvds too. they are fine for my needs, but when i buy new movies i buy blu-ray. if i want to see an older movie, i just watch the older dvd. THERES NO NEED TO REBUY ANYTHING YOU DONT WANT TO. lol.those with ps3s and are buying blu-ray movies left and right... what do you think they will buy as a standalone player once prices come down? they want to watch the movies they already own, so they will stick with blu-ray. as their friends and family float towards HD adoption, who do you think they will rely upon? the HD maven who has already adopted blu-ray! sony product or not, blu-ray is definitely going to win on this angle. other than the name, HD-DVD just does not have much going for it that makes it a winner over blu-ray.the common household does not have an hdtv, so neither format has "won" in that regard. if sales continue like they are, hd-dvd will be discontinued and once there is only one format, the push for widespread household adoption will start.

Not really a fair comparison, since Casino Royale is a blockbuster movie, and is owned by Sony Pictures. If it had sold on HD-DVD it'd be interesting to see how well it'd fair compared to Bluray. The reason I say this is because I would like to buy a high def version of this movie but can't because its only on Bluray. It'd be nice if I could buy a DVD/HD-DVD version of this movie.

My mistake, I had read it somewhere and after looking it up again just now I see my mistake.

Casino Royale was a good movie, but I don't think it's not a movie that could gain something from high-definition: "Oooh, look at those playing cards, they look so real!"Mark - Online Casinoshttp://www.yourluckystarcasino.com
