I doubt it. They specifically said that it wasn't an alternate reality Carson. That and "McKay and Mrs. Miller" was in the first half of the season.

Considering that the third series in the Stargate franchise was just announced as being titled "Stargate Universe", maybe they'll have some kind of alien or technology from that show bring him back? (Yes, I know that show isn't starting until at least 2008.) Or maybe I'm reading into it too much...

omatsei that's incorrect, there is a physical component required to ascension along with a mental component. Tao of Rodney illustrates the physical evolution, as does "Prototype" in SG-1 Season 9. Both subjects required physical evolution with the assistance of a machine before they could reach anywhere near the mental states required to transfer themselves to energy. It took the Alterans and Ori thousands of years of evolution to hit the point where they could ascend, and while it would appear that at least one group of humans in Pegasus achieved it in far less time, they were physically evolved enough to "sense' that it was within them to reach ascension.On a side note, when ascension occurs the body pretty much vaporises and Carson was very much in a coffin when he went back to Earth (unless it was a delayed ascension like Daniel in the bar), so ascension may be ruled out. It'd be interesting to see if they could revive him using the DNA manipulator and an old sample of his DNA though. Aside from that I suppose only a "Gift" from a Wraith could awaken him, assuming they don't use alternate universes.

I was pretty frelling annoyed with the people at Skiffy and the writiers of Stargate Atlantis for killing him off in the first bloody place. It always annoys the crap out of me when TPTB think that killing off regular characters will bring in more ratings (like they did with Janet Frasier on SG-1...bloody stupid move). Ijits. And yes, they will probably pull the 'ascended, then descended' card again.Now, all of this just begs the question of what they're going to do with Dr. Keller (played by Jewel Staite) after we get attached to her during season 4. *rolls eyes*

I am extremely annoyed that they killed Carson Beckett off. How retarded!He is a major character in the show, how stupid can they be!How could that possibly raise ratings?The idea of that is absolutelyl lame. I remember when they killed off the Dr in SG 1, and that was just as bad...I never knew the reason back then either.What are these people thinking. I have been I die hard fan ever since the movie came out, then sg1, and now Atlantis. I started watching in the theater and TV then when they took it off show time. I decided not to watch it until the DVD’s were released. Normally I am about a year behind everyone else but I get to watch it commercial free and one after the other. This is what kills me. I just now finished season 3, never have gotten online to look to see how things wind up. Today is my first time. After seeing Carson die I had to find out what the hell happened. I don’t know if anyone is going to read this since the last post was several months ago but here is my point. I came to this site to find out what was going on and I got the answer… thank you very much for posting it. If I didn’t want an answer I wouldn’t have come here. I do not watch the series to gain fame from friends but because I enjoy the show. For you other die hard fans… keep going.. I don’t blame you. For those who just want talk about it, then keep talking, sometimes I too enjoy talking amongst friends. For those who want to search out Stargate, don’t bitch when you get answers!!!! by the way... i am from the USA
