There actually was a very good bill presented that would give terminally ill people access to experimental treatments that had passed though phaseI & II testing. Unfortunately it was introduced by Brownback of KS and didn't make it out of committee. I hope it is revived in some way. Most cancer org, the Parkinsons org, and the Huntington Disease org were highly in favor of this. Actually, 'attitude', prayer, or any other type of nonmedical intervention has absolutely no effect on cancer survival rates. You may enjoy your last days on earth more if you have a positive attitude, but it won't do anything for your cancer.

How do you mass produce white blood cell donors?The high cost is probably due to the length of time the doctors have to be there, and all the equipment required apheresis. Then there are all the costs of the follow-up appointments to check how it's progressing.In short, it's not some chemical that can really be mas produced.

There is room enough in Research for Curing Disease and Exploring Space. I do agree that greed,corporate interests, backward religious ignorance and profiteering often have a detrimental effect on scientific research and funding.But it's not so black and white as you suggest.

I hope that's sarcasm. No one has ever been cured by faith in GOD. They pray to GOD while medical science cures them. Sometime the medicine wins..some it doesn't. If you want to chalk that up to God well go ahead.If you get Cancer and pray for it to go away without treatment YOU WILL DIE. God has no problem letting people die from horrible diseases. In fact disease is caused by living organisms...which God must have created. So its apparently in God's plan for disease to kill lots of people. Of course I don't believe that there is a God who watches over us and listens to our cries for help but hey... that's just me.

I am a 51 year old female who was diagnosed with rectal cancer 3 months ago. I had no prior symptoms but had been receiving a complete physical by my family physician which included a fecal sample. Blood in the stool was detected and a colonoscopy was done. The tumor was nearly obstructing the area where colon and rectum meet. Surgery was performed in July, resulting in removal of the tumor and resectioning of the colon. I am now receiving chemo therapy, 12 treatments total. I'm on my third. I use humor to help me get through this and also help my family friends get through it.
