thestar.com — Maybe it was the shock of 9/11. Maybe it is the reality of Canadians dying in the "war on terror" or charges against so-called "home-grown" terrorists. Whatever the motivation, more and more Canadians are lining up to become spies.

The only war Canada is fighting is in Afghanistan, and that is a legitimate response to an act of war against the United States, followed by threats to many other countries. BTW, we truly value the sacrifice of Canadian troops in helping us fight against the real terrorists in Afghanistan. And I think most of us don't blame you for not following us into the quagmire of Iraq. You've been good allies :)

Casino Royale was amazing, but Sean Connery still makes it as the best Bond.

I'm Canadian and I wouldn't make comments like that or Shane Doan might say something about you =Pand "lesosso" you're dumb, because without trading and financial agreements with the States, we'd be screwed.Plus, we get along alright considering the disasters out East.

@FhionnlaochFrom thier FAQ:--Operations Abroad--"Does CSIS have a foreign presence?"CSIS security liaison officers (SLOs) are posted at Canadian diplomatic missions worldwide. They collect relevant information from foreign police services and security intelligence agencies and from open sources, such as newspapers, periodicals, domestic broadcasts and official documents. SLOs also conduct security assessments of prospective immigrants.--"Does CSIS operate overseas?"There is no restriction in the CSIS Act on where CSIS may collect information on threats to the security of Canada. We may collect information on security threats from anywhere in Canada or abroad. The CSIS Act also allows the Service to provide the Government of Canada with non-threat related intelligence that is collected incidentally during CSIS operations.CSIS has carried out operations overseas in the past, and will continue to do so as circumstances warrant. -- "What is CSIS' role with respect to Canada's foreign intelligence requirements?"Section 16 of the CSIS Act allows the Service to collect foreign information or intelligence relating to the capabilities, intentions, or activities of any foreign state or group of foreign states, or anyone other than a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a Canadian corporation."Foreign intelligence," as defined in the Act, can only be collected in Canada at the request of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, or the Minister of National Defence. Our current priority, however, is threats to the security of Canada (particularly terrorist threats).
