desmogblog.com — Canada's Conservative Government led by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and President George W Bush will lose their last key ally in their anti-Kyoto Protocol battle. So why don't they just do us a favour and give up now, the slimey b*****ds!

It certainly is about the long term, a longer term than any real, measurable data can be had within. The pseudo-science that is alarmist environmentalism is the real threat. Man is inconsequential in comparison to the enormity of God's creation. We're not able to cause the alleged damage, and we certainly can't fix it. I certainly don't want to pass on to my children the enormous debt that knee-jerk, reactive measures proposed by unseemly opportunists will produce.

Fact: Most of the greenhouse effect is due to water vapor, which is about 100 times as abundant in the atmosphere as CO2 and thus has a much larger effect. Fact:The greenhouse effect is necessary for life on earth as we know it, were it not for the greenhouse effect, temperatures on Earth would be about 60 degrees F (33°C) colder than they are at present. The global warming discussions center on the claims that human enhancement of the greenhouse will raise temperatures, and that these will be large compared with natural variations. (<a class="user" href="http://www.junkscience.com/Greenhouse/">http://www.junkscience.com/Greenhouse/</a> Fact: CO2 is an essential nutrient for plants. Plants absorb CO2 and release oxygen, while animals inhale oxygen and exhale CO2. Researchers have proved that higher CO2 concentrations enable plants to grow faster and give them better drought tolerance. Consequently, in a world of rising atmospheric CO2 concentration, the ranges of most of earth’s plants will likely expand if the planet continues to warm, making plant extinctions even less likely than they are currently. Fact: Since I was once a TV weatherman, I have more education in climatology than Al Gore has. That makes me more expert than he is and I think he's full of crap. You can consult an expert on feces to confirm my remarks.Fact: I'm wasting my time and my breath on you digger kids.

Not true. Canada ratified the protocol on December 17th 2002. The unfortunate fact is that our government ratified it largely for domestic political reasons and never had any realistic plan as to how they were actually going to *do* what they'd agreed to, but they *did* ratify it.

China overtakes U.S. in greenhouse gas emissions<a class="user" href="http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/06/20/business/emit.php">http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/06/20/business/em ...</a>Well, no wonder Bush refuses to sign it. Why are we the only ones who have to reduce emissions? If everybody "cares" about the environment then why doesn't everybody work to clean it up?
