vanruby.wordpress.com— Nathaniel Brown receives an open letter for his Ruby on Rails antics in Vancouver. I'm not sure how to feel about this. Comments please.

This sounds like a repeat of the confusion caused by Nathaniel Brown when he organized his own PHP conference, after getting experience and contact information from being part of a Vancouver PHP Users Association conference. When he split off from the Vancouver PHP Users Association, he did not make it clear to the many top PHP developers he invited that he was no longer working with the Vancouver PHP Users Association which is a non-profit group. In the assumption that he was working with a non-profit group, the speakers did not ask for a fee. Very misleading indeed.

note the complaints about Nathan are due to the interactions many people in the Vancouver community have had with him....

Nathan sure is a very "special" guy. I worked with him a few years ago and he was the reason I never visited any Van PHP user group meetings.
