COD4 is better than Halo in every aspect. The only reason Halo 3 would remain on top is due to stuborn fans refusing to admit something is better than their precious Halo.
Halo 3 will be the top game on Xbox Live until Halo 4 is released - you can bank on that. Despite the popularity of Gears, it never surpassed Halo 2 as far as the number of people playing.
But Gears wasn't considered to be better then Halo 2 from anyone I know.... EVERY SINGLE PERSON I know over the age of 14, every single review, etc consider COD4 a much better game.... So I 100% think COD4 will overtake Halo 3... if not now then by Christmas with a combo of Christmas sales and word of mouth between now and then.
My roomate uses multiple accounts because you get a free month of gold live every time you create a new one. Each time though, he has to restart his progress. Does that kind of help the situation?

There is no cooperative campeign, or coop online from a single console.
