I'd love to see purging of some of the older inactive accounts - both from a personal standpoint and to help with new user generation. There could be some problems getting newer users onto their sites because their preferred usernames are being taken up by older inactive accounts - The kinds of accounts that were registered years ago, with less than 5 diggs/comments in 2 years that seem to have been effectively abandoned.New blood for any social website is never a bad thing.

Ok Serious Suggestion-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Is it possible for Digg to create some sort of Filter?I am an avid reader of Digg.com (though not as much of a commenter) and I cant even begin to count how many great articles I've found on Digg. I've learned things, been shocked, and actually been able to preform the 'lol' emotion before typing it.But sometimes, I just find news that I'm never interested in... For example, I am not a political person. I am very apathetic when it comes to politics and about 1/3 of all the articles that I see lately are related to the presidential campaign. At the beginning, I would peruse these articles with interest and discussion, but by now, I really just bury every single presidential campaign article I see just because I am sick of reading them (much of which I've already read before).I am proposing that Digg creates some sort of Filter similar to that of Gmail where I can automatically bury (or not see) articles that I KNOW for sure do not pertain to my interests. Sure, I could get dugg down because people will say "oh just dont click the ones you dont want to read", but I firmly believe a filter will solve many problems. If even a simple filter such as an option to "uncheck" political news would be nice. Obviously, this filter idea has many other implications and this "political news burying" is only a personal example of mine.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Anyhow, if anyone does respond, please stay on topic to the discussion at hand, which is the plausibility of news Filters on Digg.If you wish to bark on me about how lazy I am, my political apathy, or something else more personal, please send me a private message and I'll be happy to oblige. Thanks again to Diggs creators for such a great site and community.

Can we remove the burying of comments and only have people digg comments? The reason why I am asking is because if something is anti-apple or an opposing side of certain things, they end up getting buried and no one's voice gets heard so you only hear one side of the topic.
