This has been an IDEA of mine for a while...Trucks that have Voting Booths in them. They Drive place to place to have people Vote. You can have the same people go with the trucks to secure that they are not tampered with. Think 18 wheelers with banks of computers in them. Yes Voting would take longer because of fewer Booths for Voters.. However just extend the Voting period . Use BioMetrics to make sure people don't Dubble vote ( eye scan ? )Why its ok to take longer to Vote ... Imagion if you will that these trucks could go area to area giving more people the chance to vote. Poll Data would not be announced for one reason and one reason only until all Votes were considered in. So there is no undue influence by the Media to the Voting process. The Computers would keep the a digital and a paper trail. ( i like the bubble card IDEA above ) I believe if you create this standard there would be less corruption. i would like to pay people to be watchdogs and let the Media have an impeded journalist with each truck/fleet ... the truck would be equipped with handi cap lifts and such ... I think this could save us money but i wont go in to that at the moment ...just another Dum IDEA
When they're broken this badly, it's just "polishing the turd" to try and make them work. You pretty much need to throw everything out & start over from scratch, following the basic principle that you've got potential hostiles trying to corrupt the system at every step.
The only problem with your statement is the "You Americans" part. Most Americans are unaware that most (if not all) electronic voting systems peddled in this country are as secure against tampering as a single layer of tissue paper against bullets. *That* is the reason why the powers that be deploy them anyway, because the ones that do know are treated as extremist freaks.
First the system is marketed my ES&S but they did not develop it. Secondly if you read the report, this system is only used for error checking (namely catching blank and over votes).
or .. just get some hacker to post source code on all torrent sites, and just everyone goes in, injects and picks the candidate for their city. go ron paul!
