Dogmatic, this is because Mac zealots (in general) don't know anything about the rest of the 99% of the advanced computing world, so everything that can and does happen on a Mac is just "peachy keen awesome new and invented by Jobs/us" to them. :)
Actually Mac was only necessary for Digg!!Find something cool PC can do like programming $5000 remotecontrol for $50,000 Home Theater system etc. Then Find the Mac artical doing it and post it on digg.
I am having trouble doing this can anyone help? I have the avcvideo cap, it clearly recognizes my scientific american hd box, it records .m2t files that are big in size so I know they are recording something, lastly I open it up in my vlc player and nothing happens. The file won't open. Is it my VLC player, should I try an Mplayer? HELP!!!!! BTW i am using a ibook g4 with a gig of ram. hellllllllllpppp
this is MONTHS after the original post, but you're wrong about premiums. some of them aren't 5C protected. i know for a fact that hbo in atlanta on comcast has the "Copy Freely" flag set.

I just got off the phone with my local cable provider in Ontario, Canada and they said it's disabled by default. They have no plans of turning it on.
