guru3d.com — Guru3D takes 10 modern dual & quad core processors and then fires off a dozen of games at them in combo with a high-end graphics card. Then they observe the raw differences in performance with the more modern games. They show & scale 8 AMD & Intel Quad-core processors and 2 dual-core processors in gaming resolutions from 1024x760 up-to 2560x1600.

Excellent article... however, it also shows that $100 CPU with $600 graphics card can do more than a $1200 CPU with a $100 graphics card.

Great article, gonna keep it around so I can lord it over all those users I know that buy Quad core CPU's claiming that it's gonna make World of WarCraft run "crazy fast". God stupid nobs...

FSX should have been included in the tests. FSX does use all 4 cores of a Quad. Other than that oversight (not testing with FSX), a good article.

I agree with DavidL6 - it would have been good to have seen the results with FSX. However, good article and even though I'm an FSX fan I've decided to go down the dual-core route for now.
