@geocarThese things should definitely be taken into consideration by the developer when creating web applications using external (or internal) APIs. Javascript timeouts after x seconds and error handling are (for me anyway) becoming standards in my applications.

Riiiight.... and where are the other API's out there explaining how to achieve this? I'm sure they must exist *somewhere* but most folks don't know about this approach. It only became a theory about December 2005. I think just maybe I read something about prototype planning some support for it, but other than that, most folks don't much about cross domain Ajax.
