AMERICA IS GOING THE WAY OF ANCIENT ROME. READ UP ON IT AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. BARBARIANS AT THE GATES! IN OUR CASE, MY PERSONAL OPINIONS IS "BARBARIANS" ARE INDIVIDUAL OF ANY RACE OR NATIONALITY WHO WISH NOT TO ASSIMILATE INTO MAINSTREAM AMERICA. ONCE THE AMERICAN CULTURE IS GONE AMERICA AS WE KNOW IT WILL BE NO LONGER. LONG LIVE THE AMERICAN EMPIRE. www.theamericanempireco.comwww.myspace.com/theamericanempirecompany
We are for making these people LEGAL, not keeping them illegal.I find it hard to believe that people who want to stop immigration are not using the same mentality as back in the "Gang of New York" days with the Irish. I find it hard to believe that people who want to stop Mexicans from becoming Americans and finding jobs in America are not being Racist and nationalist. These people are afraid of change; and want to keep everything like it is forever. I don't see it any other way.It is only a matter of time before things change. The United States won't be here forever and neither will you. But we can make life better for everyone in the meantime by giving Mexicans the same opportunities as the Irish, English, Germans, and Italians before them,Oh and the same people who want to stop immigration also want to stop free trade that would help these countries as well!!
@ogdenIts America. Change and immigration are inevitable. Ever watched Gangs of New York? The movie might be fictional but it delivers a very powerful message. They used to say the same thing about the Irish that they say about Mexicans now. They're dirty, they're changing our culture, they're a burden on our society, they're criminals, the whole shebang. Look at the descendants of those same Irish people now. They are full blood proud Americans. Given one or two generations, Mexican children will be like that. If you don't like change, America is probably not the best of places for you.
Just like man-made global warming, you lefties twist your opponents stance by leaving out key words. The key word here is ILLEGAL. While true xenophobes are anti immigration, everyday people--including legal immigrants--who love this country and way of life are anti ILLEGAL immigration. And how do you attest for the fact that you bash Bush as a conservative, yet he's the one letting this happen. Bush is not a conservative, he is a globalist, so you should be supporting him.I believe the saying goes "When in Rome, do as the Romans" not "Do as the Romans did to Rome" God forbid anyone take a little pride in their, what's destined to be, short-lived national sovereignty.Enjoy you're new Union and currency.
I can answer this.It comes down to the foundation of American markets - aka Free market. Assuming you mean "when does Immigration" end - not illegal immigration. . .Immigration is solely based on the number of persons wanting to hire someone within the United States. So no limit to immigration just as long as they can get -and maintain - a job. Transportation is paid for by either the worker or the job. The person is free to quit at any time if they have another US job or want to go home.Your comment about china is miss-guided at the best. The GDP is not growing fast enough to fuel enough low wage jobs for us surpass China. In fact, I doubt the populations of Latin America combined wouldn't equal China's population.
@happymaxYou just stated that our ancestors faced discrimination when they came to these shores and you are defending that now? How bizarre is that! The very fact that they faced discrimination should make you wish that newcomers coming here should not face the same discrimination. If we keep perpetuating barrier to integration for newcomers, no wonder they will form their own ghettos. You have to allow avenues of integration for someone to embrace your culture. That includes employment and social services.
If you are concerned about illegal immigration nobody is doing more than Presidential candidate Tom Tancredo. While he is a long shot, he can FORCE the other candidates to deal with and talk about the problem. Contribute to his campaign today and help get his message out! http://www.teamtancredo.org/
You're right that they don't want to become American citizens, but the fact that they are restricted from leaving makes it more bi able to bring your wife than it is to go and come back. Don't you see that when the borders closed, so did the chances of many immigrants to go back home? A matter of fact is also that most immigrants will go back to their home countries to either retire or die. Undocumented immigrants are also taxpayers and so educating their children who are majority american citizen is a moh point.
that is simply not true, people want to pass on their culture and beliefs. Just like any catholic is proud to be catholic, they also want their children to be catholic, not atheist. While example is an exaggeration, it brings home the pont.

If we don't like it why would we support a policy that causes it?
