@5urr3al5amNew topic. How did my saying we signed treaties and should respect them somehow counter my argument? My argument was basically that we signed treaties generally agreeing not to do these things in warfare anymore. It was the right call then, and it remains the right idea today. We as a society have agreed we don't torture. The fact that we DO have treaties is just icing on the cake.When al-qaeda capture and torture an american prisoner how can you say that's wrong? You do it to them. By your logic not only should we expect americans to be tortured, it would be downright immoral of them not to do it. Heck, that soldier might have been trying to kill them, he deserves a little torture to find out what he knows.
