I've never bought a full version of Windoze (yes, they are legal copies, computer purchase or upgrades) and I have not had too much trouble with activation. I did with XP Pro. For the most part, I don't really care about it anymore, it's not my primary OS. I only use it to help out the family and friends that have questions or problems. Oh wow, can't "move" the damn thing around from system 2 system. OEM is 1/2 but you are locked to 32 or 64 bit, which may be a problem depending on software.
OEM software is good. Buy OEM people, preferably from eBay, most preferably from OreillyComputer we are here for all your computer needs!OreillyComputer. Website coming in 2008!
I have been wondering, it is clear that once you installed the OEM OS on a computer, you can't install it on another one (except changing motherboard and few things like that). But what i didn't understood is that, can we install a OEM copy on a computer then format the hard drive an install another copy of a OEM or retail version of vista? Because i wasn't sure of what they mean by "tied to the motherboard".
