That last time I click on anything that said "hardy bottoms", I was left severely traumatized and slight aroused. I won't make that mistake twice. Or possibly three times.

...I drank some very good beer.
quaxonJul 21, 2010
My dad who used to be a crazy muslim before I was born allowed me and my friends to get drunk at our house as long as no one was driving and doesnt care at all about drinking. Same goes for my sister whose only 19 right now who has a fake ID my parents know about and they know we go to bars together. The weird thing is he flips out about weed and even kicked me out for a week because he caught me smoking it. Even weirder is that he smokes opium every once in a while.
1b2aJul 21, 2010
I use a white guy's ID that looks nothing like me. Luckily the bouncers are very liberal in NY and don't really give a s**t.
strangehumorJul 21, 2010
I have two friends who look nothing like each other. They trade IDs when going into bars. Nobody ever gives them a second look.
reductorJul 21, 2010
I just had to ask my mum to go get a carton of beer, as long as I paid and shared it was all cool.
But then again now I'm an alcoholic.
angelbunnyJul 21, 2010
What no, using an older brother/sisters old ID?
richardomonglerJul 21, 2010
Hmm... the diggers have an interesting take on underage drinking. I wonder if they feel the same about underage smoking?
/not madd, I did both quite a lot.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
eroc668Jul 21, 2010
There is no age limit for smoking. You just can't purchase, or be given, cigarettes until you are 18 (or 19 in some states). Basically, it is illegal to acquire cigarettes, but once you do, its ok to smoke them.
Closed AccountJul 21, 2010
It's the same for some states with alcohol. The green states on this map only ban purchase, not consumption, for under 21s: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fa/Underage_consumption_map_2007.gif

not where im from...kids have one cig and can get a fine real easy...the cops r nazis
richardomonglerJul 21, 2010
Sounds like an age limit to me, unless kids today can conjure up cigarettes with their minds :O
impsethJul 21, 2010
I tried doing that once. It didn't work :(
barrogapogaJul 21, 2010
Being a girl, i went to the bars with a low cut top and an older of-age girl friend. A little smile, a wink and an "I'm sorry, i forgot my purse at home" or "i just moved here, i don't have my id yet" and i was home free. I got into Oktoberfest at the local brewery by saying i was the DD. I'm pissed that i'm 22 now and i almost never get asked for my ID.
The easiest thing to do is to just be confident. I worked as a bartender and i could spot the under-age kids right away because they were so nervous. Also, use your assets. Guys have beards and girls have boobs -- use them!
bfogarty27Jul 21, 2010
false. girls arent on digg.
and so true, im 22 and hate going in places and having no request for id its like why didnt i just do this years ago

lisaawesomeJul 21, 2010
If you live in or close to the country, you can get into bars at 17 without even flaunting t**s in my experience. The only downside is getting hit on my fat 50 year old cowboys. Of course now that I'm 24 I can't seem to get anything without an ID. I can't quite figure that one out.
aadainJul 21, 2010
No, boy have penises and girls have vaginas. Get it right!
barrogapogaJul 21, 2010
Hmm in most bars, waving your penis won't get you in. But, i guess it depends what bar you're trying to get in to.
lolcoelacanthJul 21, 2010
I didn't need to worry about buying alcohol underage, because the legal drinking age here is 18.
anomalouscloudsJul 21, 2010
Buying underage booze in NY was cake, if you didn't mind a trip to the ghetto.
Dear US government, your drinking age is bulls**t and I bought a f**kload of booze from ages 16-20 without much issue. You suck.
algeeeJul 21, 2010
i used to buy smokes underage with an underage ID. about 50% of the time they just look at the picture. once someone else bought smokes with MY underage ID, that was a laugh.
YouSaidJul 21, 2010
Way back in high school, my friend went to the DMV to get his permit. The DMV put his birthday in the computer wrong and put down 1978 instead of 1987. The irony of it was that he was Mormon, very religious and didn't like to drink, yet we still convinced him to buy us all alcohol.

my older brother always bought me beer, and if not that his older friends, or my older friends, or i would just say im 21 but didn't have my id, and it worked, so i was buying beer (In America) when i was only 19..
madcaps1980Jul 21, 2010
Topping the last half of the bottle with water is great way of getting caught. Since alcohol doesn't freeze, as soon as a suspicious parent puts the bottle in the freezer, you are f**ked.
I just want to take this opportunity to thank my older brother for not being an assh**e and buying me alcohol, love you bro!
bartledooJul 21, 2010
Meh. Been of legal drinking age for years now and still rarely buy any alcohol. Have yet to get drunk (doesn't sound at all appealing).
Can't figure out why in the world the government thinks kids are mature enough to join the military at 17, but treat them like babies when it comes to alcohol. You are legally an adult at 18 in every other respect, what's up with the magic age of 21?
I never drank illegally and it never really bothered me personally that I couldn't buy alcohol until I was 21, but good grief, what a stupid law.
lorddiasJul 21, 2010
The way I always seen it was that kids around 18 are still fairly inexperienced drivers, inexperienced drivers + inexperienced drinkers = a lot more DUI deaths and accidents, involving innocent people as well. Though I know that people already do it, and will continue to do it, but it seems like a fairly deadly mixture if the legal age of drinking was around the same age as driving.
apcfreakJul 21, 2010
I (and many others) have had licenses since 16/17. Not to say that two years would make a driver inexperienced, but 18 isn't the legal 'driving' age here, but I guess it may be there. I support lowering the drinking age to 18, or raising the Selective Service age to 21.
apcfreakJul 21, 2010
Erm, rather *would make a driver experienced*.

effective, moderately-honorable, and memorable method:
entering the store, selecting the desired brew, casually approaching the counter with money in hand, immediately throwing the money on the counter and bolting out the door as fast and far as possible....
...the clerks are usually too stupified by the money to do anything about it

Best method: walk into liquor store, attempt to buy booze. Fail. Repeat at next liquor store. Usually 1 or 2 attempts are required before you locate the old paki who doesn't give a f**k about anything anymore.
manchildcartoonJul 21, 2010
My buddy uses his older brothers ID.
They look exactly the same it's scary. Like a cross between Whoopi Goldburg and Lil Wayne.
koushiroJul 21, 2010
Never seen any teenage have any kind of difficulty in getting access to alcohol except on television or in movies. The whole age limitation is just a joke.
atarioJul 21, 2010
They forgot "over-the-counter pharmacy stuff can have a lot of alcohol in it".

If it is illegal to buy alcohol at 18 then it is illegal to serve in the military at that age.

In most states it is perfectly legal for someone under age to drink as long as their parent or guardian is present. When most Americans act like alcohol is some taboo, of course kids are going to do crazy and illegal things like the things in this chart to sneak alcohol. If you just treat it like any other drink, teach your kids to enjoy it in a healthy amount, and let them know that they can ask you to drive them around after they have had some, they will be a lot less likely to get in legal trouble or phyiscal danger because of it.
brentthJul 21, 2010
I always did my drinking in places other than bars because its such a pain in the ass to go through the rigmarole to drink in bars. The person drinking has to be all sly with their sips, its a hassle for whoever is buying drinks especially considering if they get caught its like a max fine of $4000 and a year's probation. At any rate, the 21 drinking age is pretty lame, it had pretty much zero effect on how much I or anybody I knew drank.
linkymonkeyJul 21, 2010
I am always horrified reading American stories with regards to drink. I'm in England and have been drinking legally since 18 (I'm now 22). All I can say is I'm glad I don't live there.
redhouse67Jul 21, 2010
This doesn't mention those of us who grew a mustache at age 12 and didn't shave for 2 days before going to a bar to increase their chances of getting served...at age 17
drummerandrewJul 22, 2010
NEVER FILL THE BOTTLE UP WITH WATER! It's rude, and will get you caught anyway.
