arstechnica.com — There was a rumor, many moons ago, that Apple might eventually offer credit for individual song purchases when a user buys the entire album later. However, it seems that the rumor has popped up once again, except in "slightly less than rumor" form

They need to do this for TV shows as well, especially when you try a few shows of a new season and then want to get a season pass.

This was true well over a year ago. When you bought the album, they only charged you for the songs you didnt already have.

Some people want to be taxed for their music, just as they are taxed for other public services.Others want the freedom to pay for their music with their own dime.Others are thieves and deserve jailtime or community service cleaning our roads.

I thought they already made this change. Like a while ago.

I'd like to see this. There is an album I had to buy one song at a time because at the time there was no "buy album" link. What's worse was that there were certain songs on the album that you could only purchase with a full album download (an obvious error). They've fixed the issues and even though I'd like to get the one song I'm missing for the album I'm not willing to fully purchase it again to get it.

That's not an error, that's an incentive to buy the entire CD rather than individual songs.

You couldn't buy the full album. They had a song that was only available as a full album purchase but they didn't have a "buy album" option. That's the error and it has since been fixed.
