news.yahoo.com — About a week ago Bush secretly signed something called the "John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007" that "allows the president to declare a 'public emergency' and take control of state-based National Guard units without the consent of the governor or local authorities, in order to 'suppress public disorder.'"

Nah, quite sure that's not the case. It's most certainly not obvious that these are not your words. Might want to lay out your posts in a more logical fashion. They don't make a whole lot of sense. Neither do any of the individual "points" you make.

As usual, in their haste to paint the hated Bush as a tyrant, most moonbats fail to notice that congress authored and approved this bill by overwhelming margins.Claiming this is a 'secret' is a lie. Placing a large imaginary, unproven conspiracy on one small section of a bill that is designed for other purposes is delusional.Making declarations about who is 'winning' on the intarwebs is pointless. We know what the act says. We know it was signed. We know who approved it. We know Ted Rall is a lying assh**e. We know moonbats blindly approve his message of fear.

By the way, Afghanistan is an Opium War too. The world Opium Lords didn't like the Taliban burning their Opium fields. Sorry to burst your bubble.Iraq is an Oil War. That's a no-brainer. I think Bush has even admitted it.

The Air Force released some important information on the actual benefits this act provides to the people who serve in the US armed forces.~ President signs 2007 Defense Authorization Act ~http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?storyID=123029372

I wonder if the rest of the world would help Americans kick the government's ass if Bush declared himself dictator.

@ Briankb68Okay, fair enough.I do think Rall gets a little paranoid; on the other hand, if you were in the family of someone who'd been accidentally "disappeared" and sent to a secret prison to be tortured, you might have a better sense of why people get emotional on these issues. No, maybe it's not as bad as Rall believes -- but that doesn't mean we can gloss over the fact that grave injustices ARE being committed in our names.

(digg down the prev. comment. it wasn't appearing correctly before, so i reposted...)@ Briankb68Okay, fair enough. I apologize if I put words in your mouth.I do agree Rall gets a little paranoid at times here; on the other hand, if you were in the family of someone who'd been accidentally "disappeared" and send off to a secret prison to be tortured, you might have a better sense of why people get so emotional in response to these issues. No, maybe it's not as bad as Rall believes -- but that doesn't change the fact that grave injustices ARE being committed in our names. And considering that these are matters of life and death for so many people around the world, I think you should have a thicker skin in regards to the name-calling. Sure, it's easy for you to keep an even keel, but what if it were your house, your family, your life, at stake?

again this is why the 2nd amendment has always been so important threats internal and external

I hope Olbermann does a commentary on this.

They've been brainwashed into believing domestic threats cannot come from within our very own government. You see all these military guys saying they may not like what you say, but they will defend to the death your right to say it. that's laughable now days. they have done nothing to protect the constitution from this domestic attack on it being done by Bush.maybe when the day comes, they will finally live up to their oath.
