thinkprogress.org — While serving as CentCom commander between March 2007 and March 2008, Adm. William Fallon consistently pressed the Bush administration for more engagement with Iran and criticized the calls for another war. ?I think we need to do something to get engaged with these guys,? Fallon said. ?Well,? Bush said, ?these are assh**es.?

Before the Iraq invasion Bush didn't even know the difference between Sunni & Shia (according to Ambassador Peter Galbraith).

Gut feeling policy making by a born again Christian who rather listens to God than his own father: he simply does what he wants without any accountability. He likes people who are subservient and removes anyone else. That's leadership! He only makes statements, never engages in debate. Never submits to questioning and hides behind his press people or lawyers. This guy talks about promoting democracy abroad and has even the arrogance to lecture other countries on democracy, while making a sad travesty of the democracy at home. I do not want to insult the pigs, but calling Bush a democratic leader is like putting lipstick on a pig.

Just to be perfectly clear, Iranians are not assh**es. And even if they were, why on Earth would bombing them help in the slightest? Sure they are imprisoned by ridiculous religious laws and are indoctrinated from the moment of birth (much like our own tamed down religions...), but killing them is not an option. We should leave these innocent people alone, and if we aren't happy with gays being hung and criminals being stoned to death, then we can work slowly and steadily to get these people to escape their religion or at least help them see their religion as optional. But that's not what the issue is, right? The issue is nuclear bombs, we're told. It's just too bad THERE IS NONE and that has been proved so many times. There is no nuclear weapons development - there is only a peaceful nuclear energy program. I could go into the specific evidence of this and international law and rights, but it's nothing you won't find if you do a bit of research into the matter (and by research I don't mean watching Fox News or a tabloid newspaper...) The truth is out there people, do not listen to our leaders and the mainstream media. The mainstream media lie and then the politicians believe it. The politicians lie, and then the mainstream media believe it. We are so easy to fool, especially when we don't read our news from a wide variety of sources. Personally, I bookmark mainstream news sources like BBC, but also international news sources like PressTV, RussiaToday, CNN, Fox News etc. Same with the newspaper websites, I bookmark The Sun, The Times, The Guardian, as well as non-mainstream outlets like Democracy Now, Infowars, PrisonPlanet, Think Progress, Raw Story, IndyMedia etc, and of course social news websites like Digg, Yahoo Buzz and Google Current. Nothing better than getting the full picture, instead of the sanitized or censored or exaggerated or distorted or blatant lies fed out by some of these publishers and broadcasters, which are then always repeated - the most bizarre, shocking or stunning headlines being repeated many times on the radio, TV, internet and in the newspapers. Many of these broadcasters and publishers just want to make money - and by making ridiculous claims and exaggerating events they can make big money - through purchases, advertising and thus brand loyalty etc etc. Or in many cases these publishers and broadcasters have their own political agendas - which they often conceal and sometimes even claim of being fair and balanced. Or in other cases (BBC an example), there are high-ranking individuals within these organisations that have political agendas or sometimes they are just really stupid, really evil or have their own likes/dislikes, possibly from their own experiences, but often have ideas in their head about people, places and things, based on lies and exaggerations and repetition of these by other media. 9/11 is a classic example. It's all about problem-reaction-solution (Make the problem without letting anyone know you caused the problem, blame is on someone else, then wait for the reaction from the media, public and politicians and then offer the solution, the solution of which provides what was wanted in the first place - for example the reduction of civil liberties). By the way - fun fact: There is a disproportionate amount of Israelis working in politics and mainstream media in the US and Europe compared to other nationalities. Why else do you think there is never any condemnation of the particularly brutal Israel retaliation against Lebanon as well as the brutal on-going occupation/genocide of Palestine. I kind of went off subject there but hopefully someone will learn something - or perhaps see things in a new or different light.
