washingtonpost.com — Ironic that a bill passed by a republican house and senate in 1996 comes back to haunt the current administration. The 1996 bill made it a capitol offense to violate the Geneva convention. Maybe bush should have thought twice before Abu Graib and Guantanamo.

Ooops, honest mistake. Who can tell Dems and Republicans apart these days anyway?!? Certainly not me. They all represent their corporate interestests -- not the American people. Bills such as this one only proves that point.

Great idea, I would love to see that. They should everyone enter their political alignment.

Just start ignoring the wench. She's pretty clueless and has made a career basically as a one trick pony political shock jock. I think the left is finally starting to catch on to the root of Limbaugh/O'Reilly media success. Edutainment. Here's the formula as I see it.Step one:Find a few enemies/scapegoats who are conspiring to destroy America. Really doesn't matter who but make sure there is always a sense of urgency to destroy these threats. Make it appear they are Satan incarnate and complete dolts by pointing out every little thing they do wrong repetitively. Also make sure to twist situations just enough to get a negative sound byte for the news or immature pundit talk show. The key is to make it appear your opponent is subhuman and has no redeeming qualities. (e.g. "a monster")Ideally you wish to cultivate a frenzy of hate and fear.Step twoInterview only supporters of your views or complete nutcases that don't accurately represent the views of your opponents. Always remember to be in a state of outrage at their responses and use lots of general rhetoric terms like "evil" and "good". Avoid getting into to many authentic debates with those with too many facts.. Also pretend your shills are part of objective independent newspaper/institutes and make sure their mottos includes words like "liberty", "freedom" or "American". (Optional for TV programming... make sure American flag is always waving in the background) Step threeWait for all the bountiful fish to swim into the nets.

I love how liberals think they are the guardians of constitutional value when in fact they and their democrat party are the biggest enemies it has.Need I say more than gun control to make this point? I guess that amendment doesn't count, only the ones they like.

As a conservative, I'd say the neo-cons are the biggest threat at the moment. However, we'll see if the liberals remember the lessons of critical thinking against those in power when the Democrats take control. I hope they do.And to you "conservatives": stop listening Rush, O'Reilly, et al. It's mind poison. If your values are conservative start studying actual conservative philosophy and stop trotting around like cattle and speaking like parrots. Help us get this government under control.
