They're willing to tolerate violence brought on them by a group that 60% of them polled in 2005 wanted gone TODAY, that 50% of them polled wanted gone last month, and which 71% of them want gone in less than a year.I wonder if Bush still wonders why a president who made his decisions based on polls has a 60+% approval rate both nationwide and worldwide and holding for the last six-to-eight years while his own approval ratings are dipping into the low 30's.George W. Bush is an idiot. As the last real governor I had said, "George can't help it...he was born with a silver foot in his mouth!" R.I.P., Ann.

Since this war was carried out by the US armed forces, paid for by US taxpayers, and launched by US elected representatives, it seems to me US voters and taxpayers should be paying attention to the consequences, as the duty of living in a democracy. The Lancet study, using proper statistical methods concludes that the death rate in Iraq was 5.5 deaths/1000 people prior to the war, and 19.8 deaths/1000 people presently, with generous error bars due to the inherent difficulty of the task.Regardless of who actually pulled the trigger/dropped the bomb/detonated the car, if the study is correct, a lot more people are dying than were before.I find this sobering.250,000 people mourning the loss of their parent, sister, brother, or child, as a result of this war.Americans should ask themselves, is there an equal amount of good that has resulted to balance out the suffering and death?

Surely if Americans can tolerate such a level of stupidity, Iraqis can tolerate some level of violence.

LDanix, Islam also holds a special place for Christians and Jews, the majority of the US, who are supposed to be protected by Muslims. As for the 9/11 attack, that wasnt Iraq.
