thinkprogress.org — Today, the White House released a statement criticizing Congress’s potential plan to limit CEO compensation at the companies the federal government is bailing out, firmly standing against any “punitive measures” In short, the Bush administration wants zero punishment for these wreckless CEOs who lost shareholder money.

So the government is essentially arguing that executives when faced with saving their company or saving their bonuses will choose to keep their salaries and drive the company into bankruptcy? They are that greedy and not to mention stupid? If this is the case and corporate governance feel that they are better off in the open market, then why is there a crisis exactly?

This following poem is composed entirely of actual quotes from George W. Bush.Make the Pie HigherI think we all agree, the past is over. This is still a dangerous world. It's a world of madmenAnd uncertaintyAnd potential mental losses.Rarely is the question askedIs our children learning? Will the highways of the internetBecome more few?How many hands have I shaked? They misunderestimate me.I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.I know that the human being and the fishCan coexist.Families is where our nation finds hopeWhere our wings take dream.Put food on your family!Knock down the tollbooth!Vulcanize society!Make the pie higher!Make the pie higher!Source: Richard ThompsonThats the kind of mental horsepower your working with here.

Of Course Bush is going to attempt to allow unlimited compesation for CEOs, He is the problem with our economy. Much of this was caused by the lack of regulation and allowing these fail brokers to give out huge loans to people who couldn't afford them and failing to follow up on the oversight of these companies. Along with all the TAX BReaks that were given to the wealthy and the point of putting us in an illeagal war just as a get even for Daddy not finishing the job the first time around. This war is costing the US 10 billion dollars a month, maybe it's time for Iraq to step up and pay for this war with their oil revenues

A song by Korn comes to mind at times like this, should play it real, real loud while driving through D.C.:<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korn">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korn</a><a class="user" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsUdC-pqiqo">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsUdC-pqiqo</a>
